Blog Post #7 Half-Way Reflection
I think things are going well in this class so far. We've made it half way and have gotten a lot of assignments completed. I have learned some great sites that teachers can use in their classroom, very kid appropriate. I think it is great that children are using technology so young. Technology really is the future and they will have a leg up if they figure out how to work for them.

I agree with you. I think that technology is the future and that teaching it to children will give them a leg up on keeping up with all the changes. However, even though we have made it this far I still think we have accomplished to many projects. I know it is not supposed to be easy, but its I don't feel it should be so overwhelming, I don't think people learn very well when they are that stressed. Otherwise, I do agree with everything you said Sarah. :o)
Sarah,
I have to totally agree with you. Technology is the future, and if students can learn it while they are young, great things will happen. I also love how in this class we have learned about teacher resources. I did not realize how many free sites, we could access for our future students. There are great lesson plans available and other resources that would enhance student learning.
I agree with the fact that we've had a lot of stuff completed. I don't think i've had a class thus far at BG that's required me to do so much work, but I think most of it's worth it because I have learned so much. I also love the ideas they give us as future teachers to use in our classrooms and show specific ways we can use technology to help our students. Children ARE using technology at young ages, so we need to take a step up as teachers and utilize every aspect that we can!
Sarah,
I agree 110%; one that we are half way done and that we have gotten a lot completed, but also about young children and their use of technology. Technology plays a major role in today’s society and it is important for children to learn things at a young age so they can grow to learn about it rather than starting later in life. Almost everything in today’s society deals with technology and like you said, they really will have a leg up by getting the education early. I also feel like I have learned a lot of new websites that I will be able to use myself as a teacher’s aid, but also for children and the kid appropriate websites. I never knew how many different websites there were out there, and how fantastic some of them are. Since you like the websites as well, check this one out for teachers use: http://www.enchantedlearning.com/Home.html I think it is a great website especially when teaching the younger children. I have also used some of these activities when I go to tutor children and they love it. Maybe it will be a successful tool for you as well. Good luck!
